Conferences in Agra

Agra, the name itself casts a magic spell over international and domestic travellers alike. Home to that ageless, timeless, beauty in marble - the Taj Mahal - Agra is 200 kms from Delhi and an inevitable destination in every tourist's itinerary.

A city popular for its Mughal monuments, Agra was in the 16th and 17th centuries, one of the capitals of the Mughals. It was under Akbar that the city first aspired to its heights of magnificence. Of the other Mughals, Jehangir did not stay here long but it is Shah Jahan whose name is inevitably connected with Agra. He build the Jami Masjid and most of the buildings inside the Agra Fort and the famous Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal has been described as a "tear on the face of eternity" (Tagore), and as an enduring monument to love. In the unique beauty of the Taj, subtlety is blended with grandeur and a massive overall design is matched with immaculately intricate execution. All contribute to the breathtaking first impression as you pass through the arch of the entrance gateway. Built by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj complex was started in 1631 A.D. and took 22 years to be completed and is today counted among the seven wonders of the world. The white marble with which the Taj is built is extraordinarily luminescent and even on dull days seems bright. Entry to the Taj is closed on Mondays.

This legendary city, with its historic tradition of hospitality is the ideal venue for residential conferences in royal splendour, just as it makes an art out of business. Some of the world's most reputed luxury hotel chains have their properties here, each with its luxurious settings in comfort and convenience. Then, there are a string of budget hotels too in Agra.

For the conference delegates, a meeting in Agra could well be a page out of Mughal history coming to life.

Conferences in Delhi

The capital city of modern India has behind it centuries of history which has enriched its culture. No where has tradition blended with modernity on a scale as evident in New Delhi: age old monuments stand side by side with ultra-modern hi-rise buildings.

Broad tree-lined avenues and vistas suddenly give in to narrow alleys taking you to an age of Kings, Princes, velour and bravery. Small shops huddled together, groan under the burden of age; small "dhabas" (roadside restaurants) selling freshly prepared delicacies; a wonderful collection of curios, handicrafts, jewels and jewellery. All within a few metres of fast-food restaurants serving everything from pizzas and hamburgers to colas and lemonades; glitzy shopping plazas; air-conditioned designer boutiques . . this reflects the true spirit of New Delhi. Art and culture play a vital role in the city's life which is reflected in the art galleries and museums which form an integral part of the city.

After all these years, New Delhi still retains its imperialistic hues and colours. Stately lawns and fountains, the colonial edifice of Rashtrapati Bhavan - the residence of the President of India, the sweeping drive from the Bhavan to the India Gate a monument dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives during World War I.

Delhi has the country's best facilities for holding conventions, seminars and exhibitions. Over the years the city had hosted some of the most prestigious conferences in this part of the world. The city's conference venues are ultra-modern and numerous choices are available. It also offers all support facilities that are so important for a successful conference - from film making to slide preparations and audio-visuals to overnight printing, even conference dailies.

New Delhi is all this and much more. It is what you want it to be - a modern city bustling with life of a city of old world charms.

Mumbai originally a cluster of seven islands, is today regarded as the "Gateway" to the country. The history of this rapid growth of the city, is a tribute to the enterprise and vision of it's citizens.

Dazzling shopping arcades, exciting sports activity, high fashions, theatres, music and movies, gourmet restaurants and interesting sightseeing - Mumbai offers the visitor a heady mix of all this and more.

Mumbai also plays an ideal host to the business traveller.
